Writing & Poetry Competitions & Submissions – June 2024
Summer is officially here (whoop!) and with it a brand new list of over 160 poetry competitions, writing submissions and opportunities open or with deadlines in June 2024.
We’re currently celebrating a Bank Holiday weekend, here in Ireland, along with the beginning of Pride Month and there’s a writing prompt for June over on the blog exploring and celebrating Irish LGBTQ+ poetry. Take it as your inspiration and let your words Shine!
For the past nine months, I’ve been learning Italian and my love for Bella Italia has blossomed into a brand new 30-day writing challenge for Summer 2024 when we’ll be embarking on an Italian odyssey and taking our inspiration from the Italian philosophy of La Dolce Vita!
From the heart of the Mediterranean, the influence of the ‘Bel Paese’ has reached far across Europe and the globe, through Empire, exploration and immigration, carrying with it its rich cultural heritage, spanning language, history, philosophy, science, industry, art, music, literature, film, fashion, food, wine and much more.
This July, join me for an Italian idyll and 30 days of writing prompts where we’ll explore ‘the sweet life’ and discover exactly what the Romans (and the Venetians, Milanese, Florentines, Sicilians…) have done for us, though your daily writing practice.
